My final year in this school I take calculus as a math class.
I always do good in math, but now I'm struggling to pass.
This class is either really hard or my senioritis is refusing to learn.
I don't want to go to summer school and sit in a class and burn
The beginning of the year wasn't so bad.
I got decent grades so my parents were glad.
But when the second marking period came everything changed.
When I'm handed a test I only get points for my name.
My grades plummeted to a point of no return.
There was no extra credit so there were no extra points to earn.
I needed to do really good on the next test.
I needed to study and learn so I could do my best.
.
The day of the test I was more nervous than ever.
The test took me so long I thought it felt like forever.
I knew I made a few mistakes or two.
But once the bell I ran out without a clue.
The next day I went back to class completely ready.
My teacher had this look on her face that made me unsteady.
Then she gave me a smile and handed me my test.
But only I will know what happens next...

"Driving experience"
I finally got my license after I have waited so long.
I was so confident in my driving skill that nothing could go wrong.
My dad got me a car that I could call my own.
He just said no texting while i drive or being on the phone.
I drive in the mornings everyday to school.
I have to make sure im not late that's the rule.
I sometimes take my cousin because he lives next door.
It is good to have company because being alone is a bore.
When i am alone though i like to listen to music and sing.
I dont have a nice voice so i make sure people aren't listening.
I drive to a lot of places that i know where to go.
Occasionally i travel to places i don't know.
Once I decided to stay on the highway for a long time.
I thought that if i knew my way back that I would be fine.
That's when i looked at my meter of gas.
I then realized i wasn't going anywhere fast.
I quickly made the next U-turn i saw.
I wanted to get back home, but there was a flaw.
There was no way i was going to make it back.
I needed to find the nearest gas station or I was going to have a panic attack.
Just in time I saw a delta coming up.
I quickly pulled up behind a big red truck.
I turned my car off and sat back in relief.
I was going to make it home and there would be no grief.

"Showing my parents my report card"
So one day I heard we are getting our report cards in the mail.
I hope I did good and that I didn't fail.
If I actually did then my future wont be bright.
My parents like to make sure that my grades are alright.
One week passes by and I check the mail everyday.
Apparently seneiors get it late and I'm thinking there's no way.
I have no clue when my report card will come.
Sitting in my living room I wait and I hum.
Finally my report card has come at last.
I'm the first to reach it and open it up fast.
I didn't do so good on my midterm tests.
I call my friends and learn that neither did the rest.
So then I had to decide when to show my mother and father.
If it was up to me I wouldn't even bother
But they like to see how I am doing in school.
So I show them right away and let them scream at me like a mule.
It probably was the right thing to do.
Even though I hate getting lectured from the two.
I feel a little better knowing I didn't do wrong.
Let's see if I do the same when the next comes along.

"Midterms Galore"
The next few weeks are going to be a drag.
Listening to my mother and father nag.
About studying for midterms coming up soon.
They want me to pass, so I don't look like a buffoon.
Day and night they have me studying hard.
I can't fall asleep because they are always on guard.
They make sure I stare at the paper all day long.
They never leave so they're never gone.
It's been about a week so i picked up this book.
The only time i stop is when i help my mom cook.
Or when my dad goes to the bathroom.
I try to close my eyes but he comes back too soon.
Finally the last week before midterms is here.
I think about how many tests are so near.
That after i can finally shut my eyes and rest.

"No Snow In December"
In December it is suppose to snow all month
Hot chocolate to drink and cookies to munch
But this year is different because of one reason
There is no snow to match the season
Without snow there is not much to do
I sat on my couch as if my butt had glue
Such a boring month it makes me sad
If it snowed right now that would not be so bad
Christmas passed by and it felt different this year
There were no bells or carols to hear
2013 is coming real soon
I make a wish for snow on a full moon
The next day the snow falls from the sky
I am so happy i just want to cry
No more boring nights doing nothing at all
Time to go outside and run until I fall!

"Snoopys House!"
There was a big assignment today in class
We are going to make houses, but not out of glass
They are going to be houses of gingerbread!!!
They have to be big so everyone gets fed
My group thinks of an idea to make ours the best
Angela says she knows whats better than the rest
She says we make Snoopy's house from Charlie Brown
Everyone's so excited and noone frowns
So we get to work as quick as we can
We make the gingerbread and put the frosting in a pan
We all work together really fast
Before we know it a full week has passed
Its time to put them on display and we hope everyone likes it
We see people wonder how Snoopy even fit
The next day we see who won
Of course ours did we didnt make it for fun

"The storm brews problems"
A storm is coming and everyone is on the run
Hurricane Sandy isn't funny no ones having fun
The winds are so strong they make the trees look so weak
When they fall to the ground you hear women shriek
The night night can not get any worse i think I'm going to die
Just then the power goes out and i want to start to cry
I have homework to do but my powers out
This homework has to get done without a doubt
I go through town and see the mess the storm made
No one went to work so no ones getting paid
Streets are closed because trees block the ways
Getting through town is like going through a maze
Back to business i need to find electricity
Then i realize that Ang will help me
I finished my homework it was very easy
